One visit to Siam Restaurant was not enough, so this time I decided to try something different this time. I ordered the Beef Noodle Soup and the Moo Yang with rice. I did not expect to see a Beef Noodle dish at a Thai restaurant, but Siam has it. The dish resembles Vietnamese pho, and uses the same type of noodles, but the broth is constructed differently. The broth is seasoned and flavored well, and didn’t really need any additional condiments. The beef consisted of beef balls and sliced beef. The dish normally comes with beef tripe, but I opted out of that. The Moo Yang is essentially a barbequed slice pork dish from the barbeque menu. I don’t have a picture of the Moo Yang before it was devoured, but it does come with a small salad and dipping sauce. There is a picture of the Moo Yang over some rice. The pork was very tasty and did not taste dry. The portion size for a bowl of rice was quite large.
Overall, Siam Restaurant continues to deliver tasty dishes at a completely unexpected location. Again, prices are definitely acceptable for a Thai restaurant. If you haven’t been to Siam since my last review, then I think it’s time to make your way here for some Thai food, especially for those of you who live in South Sac. Happy eating!
