It’s been a very long time since we have tried YD house. We’ve been to so many Korean restaurants in Sacramento that we needed to go back to YD house to see if we were missing something. There was ample parking in the strip mall and we were quickly seated upon entering. Water was provided as we looked over the menu on the placemat.
Today, we ordered the spicy pork bulgogi, dolsot bibimbob, and the Yang Nyum Chicken. YD house seems to provide the most side dishes (banchan) out of all the Korean restaurants we visited. The server was happy to refill any side dishes finished as well. The spicy pork bulgogi came as a good portion size in larger pieces, which was nice. The pork was spicy and delicious. The dolsot bibimbob tasted good, and the sizzling pop really brought everything together. The Yang Nyum Chicken had a thick flavorful sauce all over the fried moist chicken drumsticks and thighs. Compared to a similar chicken dish served at Sarang Bang, YD House definitely has a better version with the moist chicken.
Overall, the food at YD house was amazing and definitely deserves a return trip for anyone. The only reason YD did not get a 5/5 was because of the lack of drink refills. The cups were never refilled for the entire meal even when completely empty. Prices are moderate and a large variety of authentic Korean dishes are available. If you haven’t tried YD House yet, give them a try.
